Four simultaneous applications in the first half of the year
This February, ended the first five applications that began in 2015. Throughout this process of implementing the Family Competence Program 12-16, has served 44 families, 58 parents and 53 children. During this period, it has trained over 67 professionals and 40 have participated as technical applications.
Now, there are four applications more of Family Competence Program 12-16 in the Balearic Islands. They began on February 25th when the technical staff finished the training course. Approximately applications ended on June 10th.
Applications are made at the same time in neighborhoods and towns of the island of Mallorca, thanks to networking and collaboration of various entities such as Social Services, Palma City Council, Consell de Mallorca and the University of the Balearic Islands. These applications have been carried out with the assistance and support received from the project EDU2013-42412-R - "Cultural adaptation of Strengthening Families Program 12-16 Proposal of evidence-based family education for families with social problems and with teenage children.. Acronym: ACUPROBEFAM ", 2014-2016, whose principal investigator is Maria del Carmen Orte Socías. As well, we have the support of social programs such as CaixaProinfancia.
In the district of Son Roca, who belongs to the municipality of Palma, the program is being implemented by professionals social and educative of Naüm Project. In the town of Manacor the program is being carried out by technicians of the IRES (Institute of Social Reinsertion) Foundation, in the municipality of Inca it is developed by staff of PROBENS, an association for the Study and Promotion of Social Welfare and in the district of Sa Indioteria responsible for putting the technical staff is Jovent Cooperative Society.
According to the periodic reports made by technicians, the degree of participation and involvement, both families and teenagers is quite high. We continue to work to offer a program that will produce desired results in the prevention of substance abuse and criminal behavior through improving family relationships.
